Steve here with the latest news! This week, it’s the release of Deathtrap Equalizer, one of the first classic T&T solo adventures. Most adventures take place underground, in a bustling city, or the wilderness. This adventure is more like a closed time loop in a pocket universe. You’ll be teleported from one encounter to the next and try to see how many encounters you can go to before you are defeated. When Deathtrap was first released, this was a revolutionary way to have an RPG adventure, so you are walking in the footsteps of gaming history...
For those of you who have played the original Deathtrap, all is not the same. Ken St. Andre did some rewriting and improvements to add balance and even more excitement to the adventure. The biggest change is the new Equalizer room. We won’t go into all the details here (you’ll have to play it) but suffice to say, Ken came up with some clever stuff for the Equalizer that involves three golems…
There is also some new art specially drawn for the MetaArcade version by Liz Danforth. Liz was the original artist for Deathtrap, and it was great to be able to engage her to once again revisit this classic solo adventure.
Deathtrap Equalizer is a full-sized adventure and you can add it to your collection for 40 gems ($4) or you can play it for free by with your hearts.
Deathtrap moves to Gull
The proprietor of the Deathtrap Equalizer has moved his operations to Gull. His reasons are this own, but you’ll find him in the Miracles District, north of the City square. Certainly what he has to offer is a miracle in its own right, so what better place to set up a shop like his? See the updated map for the location. Bit by bit you are seeing more of Gull and the strange wonders it has to offer the curious.
THIS WEEK’S NEW TRIVIA CONTEST
This week’s question is of course about our newest adventure Deathtrap Equalizer. We’ll start with an easy one…
The Question: In Deathtrap Equalizer you meet a sorceress who may take liking to you or may cast a nasty spell on you. What is her name?
Post your answer in the comments section below or on the MetaArcade or Tunnels & Trolls Facebook Pages. I (Steve) will choose an answer at random from the correct answers, contact the winner and mail you a free signed copy of Grimtina’s Guard, plus a free signed comic. (If you already have Grimtina’s solo I’ll send you a different T&T item). Note: you must live within the continental US so we can ship it to you. The deadline for posting your answer is Monday April 16th, 6 pm pacific time.
Last week’s Trivia answer
The question was: In Sewers of Oblivion, you meet Leo Felis. What does Leo invite you to? The correct answer is “A banquet.”
Our Trivia Contest winner is Sarah ChristianScher who was chosen at random from the correct answers. We’ll send Sarah a signed copy of the Grimtina’s Guard solo! (or an alternate prize if she has that)
Thanks for playing and remember you could be next week’s winner! Odds are the question is also going to be about Deathtrap, so you might as well start playing it now.
